WHAT YOU’LL DO

As our Cost Accountant you’ll be a part of the gear system that keeps the Seakeeper machine running. You’ll ensure all inventory is valued, recorded and expensed properly and become one of our internal subject matter experts when it comes to our ERP system. Whether it be purchasing, engineering, marketing or accounting, you’ll connect various departments and functions by assisting to identify and collect data necessary to make sound business decisions. You’ll help us to keep everything moving smoothly through the system and allow our business to be more efficient than ever! You’ll make an immediate impact by carrying out the following responsibilities:

 

  • Maintain item records and ensure all inventory is valued at fair market value, recorded accurately on the balance sheet and expensed properly on the income statement
  • Interact and support internal departments to ensure the movement of inventory flows properly in the system and ensure item records are maintained accurately
  • Analyze the cost of products in each layer of the bill of materials
  • Assist in month-end close of the general ledger
  • Monitor cycle count program
  • Reconcile finished goods inventory
  • Create and maintain reoccurring and one-off requests for various reports for management and support staff
  • Troubleshoot ERP workflow issues

MUST-HAVES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and general ledger codes and concepts
  • Ferocious attention to detail with the ability to sort through data to identify and understand the root cause of any discrepancies
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to think strategically
  • Demonstrate good judgement and be of unquestionable integrity
  • Maintain a positive, professional and customer-centric attitude at all times
  • Be responsive, resourceful and flexible
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior time management, multitasking, organizational and prioritization skills

 

NICE-TO-HAVES

  • Experience utilizing NetSuite
  • Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing industry

  • Although you’ll be based in our Mohnton, PA location, you’ll have the opportunity to work from your home office most of the time, if you choose
  • You’ll report to the Controller, based in California, MD

Our Cost Accountant team is a growing part of Seakeeper and nestled within a department responsible for accounting, finance, logistics, administration, customer support and business intelligence. It is a small but mighty team that covers a lot of ground and touches many other departments, keeping Seakeeper operating smoothly. You’ll be able to make an immediate impact in both internal support and function of Seakeeper.
